How casino cashback and rakeback work
How cashback percentages are calculated, how VIP tier affects the rate, and the difference between slots and live cashback.
Cashback (sometimes called rakeback) is a partial refund of losses over a set period. Unlike a welcome bonus, cashback doesn't require a promo code — it's usually credited automatically.
How the percentage is calculated
At most casinos we've checked, cashback scales on a progressive ladder based on your weekly deposit or bet total. A typical structure looks like:
- from €100 — 3%
- from €500–1,000 — 5–6%
- from €5,000 — 8%
- from €15,000–25,000+ — 10%
The more you play, the higher the rate — an incentive for active players to stay on the platform.
Slots cashback vs. live cashback
Casinos with a developed bonus programme usually run two separate cashback tracks:
- Slots cashback — calculated from your results in slot games specifically, usually with a wagering requirement on the payout (the multiplier depends on VIP tier — e.g. ×2 at the top tier and ×7–8 at entry level).
- Live cashback — a separate, smaller rate (often 5%) paid with no wagering requirement, but usually only available to the highest VIP tier.
What to check
- Minimum payout threshold — if your accumulated cashback is below the threshold (often €3), it won't be credited that period.
- Crediting day and time — usually once a week, at a fixed day and hour (e.g. every Thursday 09:00–10:00 UTC).
- Time to clear — if the cashback requires wagering, you typically get 24 hours from crediting.
- New accounts are often excluded — the entry-level VIP tier is frequently excluded from cashback, unlocking only at the second tier.
